Agastache, also known as Hummingbird Mint, is a wonderful, drought tolerant, perennial that offer late season color.  As a bonus, hummingbirds LOVE this plant as do butterflies and bees.  Plant in well drained soil.

Bloom Time:  Late Summer into Fall

Varieties:

Black Adder: An “Anise” aka Giant Hyssop aka “Licorice Mint” type.  Whatever you choose to call it, it is LOVED by pollinators.  The dark erect bracts support dainty lavender-blue flowers giving it a two-toned appearance. Very long blooming Summer into Fall. 3’H x 2’W.  Zone 6 – so it is best planted in lower elevations.  Deadhead to prolong bloom.

Coronado: Pale orange bloom sits atop a mauve base, 16″H x 12″W. Zone 5. Plant Select. More Info Here.

Double Bubblemint: 2′-3’H x 18″-2’W.  Named due to the fragrance of bubblegum and mint. Deep magenta flowers bloom all summer.

Poquito Butter Yellow:  up to 1’H x 1’W.  A dwarf hummingbird mint, stands out with bright yellow flowers bloom all Summer Long. Zone 5.
